I was born in 1961 and I grew up in St. Louis. I spent 15 years dancing, tumbling and cheerleading. I was fortunate to train under many esteemed Dance teachers and traveled nationally for Tumbling competitions. I got married in 1980 at 18 years of age. My husband was military and stationed in Germany, so we lived there for 8 months. We were then transferred to Manhattan, Kansas. In 1982 he was discharged so we made our way back to St. Louis to be with family.
I had my first child Gregory in 1986, second child Anthony in 1987 and my daughter Brittany in 1990. From there my life became completely full raising children and all the activities that they became involved with. I was a stay at mom and loved every moment spent with my kids.
As they started entering high school years I found that I was looking for something for myself as a challenge. A friend suggested going to a Tax Course as she had just completed one herself. I dove in and absolutely knew this was perfect for me. I then worked seasonally as a tax preparer for a small business owner for the next 10 years. At that time my children were all grown and going to College and finding their niche in this world and I found myself thinking of what path I wanted my life to take.
The opportunity came with the small business owner to open a second location that I was to run in 2012. I met my new assistant Sue and from there we have become the best of friends. At that time, I learned all about Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Business Taxes.
2014 was a wonderful year as I became a grandmother for the first time to my sweet Bryn. She has brought so much joy to our family. I was also given the wonderful opportunity of traveling to lrapuato, Mexico for a mission trip. It’s strange that you go with the intent of helping others and their community but come back feeling as if you were the one helped and changed. I will always cherish that experience.
In the summer of 2016, I decided that it was time for me to branch out on my own so I opened Hardin Tax Service.
I feel very proud of pushing myself into the unknown world of owning my own business. I have many loyal clients who have followed and their referrals have allowed my business to grow.
